Approved solar supplier

The Solar for rentals trial has now commenced and Green Energy Technologies is one of the only Townsville businesses to be listed as an approved solar supplier for this initiative.

This is a first-of-its-kind program for Queensland to help landlords and tenants share the value of solar. Around 1,000 rebates of up to $3,500 are available for eligible landlords to install a solar system with solar monitoring technology at their rental/leased property in the Townsville local government area.

Financial Assistance paid of $3.500 for systems 5 kilowatts or greater.
Only one rebate is available per tenant.
If you have more than one tenant you can apply for a rebate for each tenant provided all of the eligibility criteria are met.

Benefits of the trial

Eligible landlords get the rebate to cover up-front costs of installing a solar and monitoring system and higher rental income.
Tenants get access to solar with no upfront cost and can use the solar system to reduce their power bills in return for a fair rent increase.
